About The Role

Destination NSW is currently seeking Ministerial and Corporate Communications Officers (x 2) to support the Arts and Entertainment and the Sports and Lifestyle events portfolios.

Destination NSW’s Ministerial and Corporate Communications Officers are responsible for the identification, management and execution of ministerial media and stakeholder opportunities and events for the NSW Government. Officers are responsible for leveraging the investment made by the NSW Government through Destination NSW in major events as well as the programs and initiatives undertaken across NSW to grow tourism and position NSW as a leading visitor destination.

These roles are responsible for end to end management, planning and preparation of materials to support ministerial opportunities including media releases, event briefing notes, speeches, as well as other ministerial documentation including briefing notes, house folder notes and correspondence where required. Officers are also responsible for preparation of responses to media enquiries and suggestions where appropriate regarding media strategy for announcements.

  2. Describe an example where you have identified and executed a media opportunity. You should outline the media opportunity, the strategy, and how you executed the strategy. You should also detail what materials/events/communication you were responsible for delivering and the outcome. An example where the opportunity involved multiple stakeholders would be advantageous.
