About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Digital & Communications Officer, the Graphic Designer will be responsible for designing and creating the visual assets across the organisation of Hockey Australia. Through the creation of these assets, the Graphic Designer will ensure Hockey Australia’s brand, and its associated brands, is consistent, professional and true to the organisation. This will primarily be through being a part of the Digital & Communications team, where most requests for assets will come from. The Graphic Designer will also execute the assets requirements of all other departments as required. 

Key Accountabilities 

  • Design, update and implement brand guidelines / style guides and logos for Hockey Australia brands, teams, programs, events, campaigns and initiatives, including:
    • The Kookaburras and Hockeyroos 
    • JDH Hockey One League 
    • Hookin2Hockey 
  • Design and create all assets across social media, EDMs, websites, live streaming platforms, National Championships and other events
  • Design and update corporate templates, presentations, associated event collateral and publications for internal and external purposes, ensuring these are always up-to-date on a proactive and ongoing basis
  • Support the Revenue team, and other areas of the business, to produce high quality commercial and Government sponsorship proposals to secure new opportunities for partnership and support
  • Work with HA commercial, Government and media partners to design and supply cross-promotional assets where required and ensure all required partner and Government logos are included across materials and templates as per contract deliverables
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all design assets fall in-line with brand guidelines, carry an appropriate look and feel for target audiences and are implemented where appropriate to ensure ongoing consistency, professionalism and awareness for Hockey Australia and its associated brands

Remuneration

Hockey Australia will offer a $70,000 - $75,000 salary package including superannuation dependent upon the successful applicant's skills and experience.

Experience, Skills and Attributes

  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Tertiary qualifications in graphic design or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in Adobe software programs - Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
  • A thorough knowledge and application of best practice and contemporary design trends
  • Ability to think creatively and create quality, innovative design concepts from scratch that are appropriate for HA and its various brands and events
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills with an ability to work to strict and changing deadlines with flexibility to change direction positively under direction
  • Skills in motion graphics (After Effects) and video editing (Premier Pro) is favourable
