La Trobe Sport oversees student programs, partnerships, industry engagement and sport facilities to enable student participation in sport and recreation, to actively engage the local community in our campuses, enhance the student experience and employability opportunities and ultimately drive activities that showcase and position La Trobe as the University of choice for sport.
About the role:
The primary purpose of this position is to support and work with the Communications and Engagement Coordinator and the Senior Manager, Industry and Engagement, La Trobe Sport in managing content production, social media channels, design needs and communications, while also supporting major projects and events across the entire La Trobe Sport portfolio. This includes activities associated with commercial and community partners, elite athletes, sport clubs, sport and active recreation programs, alumni, and the broader University community.

In this role, the successful applicant will support the development of digital content and artwork for publication via internal and external communication channels. Key to the role will be the ability to work collaboratively with La Trobe Sport team members and build positive relationships within La Trobe with affiliated sport clubs, elite athletes, academic units, research centres, outside bodies and commercial partners to support and represent La Trobe Sport activities.
Other duties include designing digital and hard copy assets consistent with the La Trobe University brand to support La Trobe Sport integrated marketing campaigns and recommending new creatives and innovations for communication outcomes.
Skills and Experience:
The successful applicant will have relevant undergraduate qualifications in communications, media or marketing, digital design and experience in developing and coordinating a variety of content mediums for distribution via a range of social media channels. Adobe image and video editing software experience desired.
Other requirements are excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop excellent working relationships with colleagues, students and other stakeholders and demonstrated capacity to organise work effectively and deliver outputs in a timely manner.
