Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sport Development Coordinator to join our team. Working in a passionate team from our Burleigh office this position is responsible for creating and implementing effective developmental programs and associated resources which enhance performances for sports athletes and coaches throughout the State. In this role you will
Plan annual state-wide Surf Coach Accreditation Programs.
Manage the state-wide Queensland Coach Accreditation processes.
Plan and coordinate state-wide Coach Education Programs.
Promote strategic partnerships with external organisations i.e. Queensland Academy of Sport, Gold Coast Academy of Sport etc.
Assist regional staff/officers with regional Athlete/Coach Development clinics.
Coordinate logistics for the Queensland Cyclones State Teams: (Ocean, Surf Boats, IRB & Pool Rescue).
Develop recognition plan for State Team athletes and management.
Attend to enquiries on Sports Development issues from clubs, branches, SLSQ employees and members.
Support the Sport Event Coordinator (SEC) in conducting and managing Sports Events.
Submit regular written Sport Development reports.
Skills and experience
Working with Children Blue Card or ability to obtain one quickly.
Development Coach Accreditation.
Flexibility to work nights and weekends as required.
Tertiary sports qualification
High level of surf life saving sport knowledge and experience.
Knowledge of coaching and/or officials accreditation systems.
High level of competency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to work co-operatively with volunteers, officers and members.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Outstanding organisational and time management skills.
Located in West Burleigh, Gold Coast.
