Rugby Australia (Rugby AU) the governing body of Rugby Union in Australia, is looking for an experienced and passionate Head of Marketing with a focus on retail and participation growth.
Reporting to the General Manager, Marketing & Digital, the key purpose of this role is to develop and execute innovative marketing strategies that deliver against the Rugby AU Strategic Plan.
Key responsibilities for this role:
Drive ticket sales and exceed targets for attendance and ticket revenue for all professional competitions where Rugby AU is the primary responsible for ticket revenue
Work closely with ticketing on yield management to maximise revenue, but balance with objectives to maximise attendance to matches.
Support hospitality and sales programs, merchandise, tour/travel, membership, and other commercial programs with marketing strategies and advertising.
Increase tune-in on broadcast rights holders’ channels, working with broadcast partners to harness relationship over broadcast terms, determine methods to improve synergies and utilise each channel to grow rugby viewership and broadcast value
Leverage and maximize contra relationships with all of Rugby’s broadcast partners
Drive opportunities to amplify Rugby AU’s marketing CTAs through broadcast partner channels and maximize relationships with all of Rugby’s broadcast partners
Define fan and stakeholder research data required in order to drive strategy development
Develop marketing plans that increase engagement of fans across community, Super Rugby and national brands
Amplify the “TEAM RUGBY” message through marketing channels
Instituting team building plan to deliver a culture that is fun and drives performance
Provides strong leadership and coaching to department through training and performance management
Complete Budget management, planning and reconciliation
Consult with Legal Department regarding legal and compliance matters
Work with Insights Manager to enhance knowledge of fans
Provide insights to the Ticketing Department to help develop and market ticket products

Demonstrated ability to think, plan and mobilize to act strategically
Ability to initiate, monitor and review projects and activities in line with organizational plans
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders
Strong communication skills, written & verbal ability to develop and deliver support.
Relevant Marketing Degree
