POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of this role is to coordinate the Club’s Annual Sailing program through efficient and professional management, on a full time basis.
Reporting to the Boating Manager, General Manager and Club Captain the role involves supervision and direction of the Volunteer program.
The sailing coordinator, in conjunction with the Boating Manager takes chief accountability for the club’s on-water activities, regatta event coordination, race management and organisation of the club’s rescue boat fleet maintenance and use.
Days and hours of employment will need to be flexible with weekend and public holiday hours required to coordinate club activities and hosted events.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Policy and Programme development in regards to the club’s racing and training activities, focusing on-water risk management procedures.
- Volunteer coordination and rostering, advising on appropriate training opportunities, maintaining the online rostering system.
- Administer the online entry and results software, ensuring accurate collection and publication.
- Identify and develop existing or new events across all programs, including opportunities to host State, National and World Championship events, by acting as the club’s representative on regatta organising committees.
- Organisation, inception and completion of large-scale sailing events in conjunction with Sailing Office team.
- Web content management, responsible for providing content for fortnightly newsletter, social media platforms and club website.
- To formulate the department and event budgets, reconciling post completion of event where appropriate.
- Responding to public and member enquiries into club activities.
