UniSport Australia is the peak governing body of university sport in Australia
We strive to promote and foster the importance of university sport as an integral part of university life at 43 member universities, who collectively represent more than one million students nationwide. Our primary focus is providing expertise and leadership in university sport. We aim to deliver and integrate national policy that enhances and facilitates opportunities for competitive participation in sport for students at a regional, national and international level. Furthermore, we also focus on providing a broad range of supplementary activities, advocacy and services for our members. About the role
The Event Coordinators are two of seven people within the Nationals Delivery Team. They work closely with the Project Manager, Sport and Operations Managers (SOM), Registrations and Systems Manager, Commercial Manager and at event time the wider team to effectively deliver UniSport’s flagship event, the UniSport Nationals Div 1 and Div 2 (The Nationals).
The UniSport Nationals
The Nationals will see over 5500 student-athletes from across Australia come to Perth to compete in the pinnacle event on the annual university sport calendar to claim championship status in over 28 different sports. With sports contested in mens, womens, mixed and open categories, over 60 sporting competitions will be held in venues across the Perth region across seven days of fierce competition.
What we are looking for
We’re looking for a Sport event all-rounder, who’s passionate about sport, understands the challenges the event space can bring and is not scared to take on new things. We strive to deliver the best participant experience possible and require an individual who is committed to deliver just that. This role requires a varied understanding of multiple sports and the sporting landscape, draws and competition structures and an understanding of the sport event world. Our environment can be fast paced and challenging, but we love people that can rise to the challenge.
