The Role

The Development Officer will be responsible for delivering high quality netball programs for players within NSW. You will implement Netball NSW School Programs across the Sydney Metro area and provide opportunities for young players to engage with netball products.  In addition, you will support event activations, promote Netball NSW, NSW Swifts and GIANTS Netball products, programs and initiatives.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct school clinics, NetSetGO clinics, gala days and school holiday programs within and surrounding the Metro region of Netball NSW.
  • Promote and support Netball NSW aims and objectives of junior development across NSW
  • Develop and implement netball clinics to people from non-traditional markets including disability, multicultural and indigenous communities
  • Provide community and school administration support to Participation team.

What we are looking for?

You will have proven experience in a Netball coaching role and a current Foundation Netball Coaching accreditation.
In addition, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A strong affinity to the Netball NSW brand and culture
  • Sound Administration and MS Office skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to use your initiative and work autonomously
  • A valid car driver’s license is required
  • A Current employee Working With Children Check
  • First Aid Certificate highly desirable

Netball NSW is a not-for-profit organisation and is governed by a Board of Directors and managed by professional staff. Netball NSW is the peak state sporting organisation responsible for the governance, development, promotion and administration of netball throughout New South Wales and is affiliated to Netball Australia.

Netball NSW provides the framework for approximately 115,000 registered members and over 150,000 total participants to enjoy netball at all levels throughout New South Wales. Our sport continues to grow both on and off the court and much of this success can be attributed to the wide range of programs, facilities and services Netball NSW offers to its members and participants - from the grassroots level through to the elite, professional level.

Netball NSW has a proud history of elite netball teams and athletes’ performances in national and international competition. Over 300 athletes have proudly represented NSW in elite competition since the inception of the national netball league in 1997 and then the ANZ Championship.  2017 saw the introduction of the Suncorp Super Netball, the top Australian domestic competition which includes two Netball NSW elite teams, the NSW Swifts and GIANTS Netball.
