The Role

The Participation Coordinator - Community Engagement will be responsible for the coordination and administration of key programs that promote increased participation in Netball among various community-based organisations and groups, catering to people of various backgrounds.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Increasing participation at the local level with particular focus on inclusion of diverse communities including: Come ‘n’ Try’; Engagement with local community and disability groups; Community Activations; Community Events including but not limited to Koori games, PCYC Nations of Origin and Go Active.
  • Manage the coordination, planning, delivery and evaluation of:
               Community activations 
              Grant Funding received by Netball NSW in this area
               Association and Club inclusive program delivery
              Netball NSW Reconciliation Action Plan
  • Provide training, assistance and support to Netball NSW Affiliated Associations and Clubs to ensure the increase of inclusive and diverse netball environment through the effective implementation of participation products.
  • Manage the planning, delivery and evaluation for the Marie Little OAM Shield tournament.
  • Manage the Netball NSW Inclusive Communities Grants.

What we are looking for

You will have an interest in Netball and an understanding of the sporting culture.  In order to be successful, you will have experience in community engagement and development, especially with disadvantaged and marginalized communities.

In addition, you will be able to demonstrate: 

  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle many tasks at once. 
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Sound Administration and MS Office skills.

Netball NSW

Netball NSW is a not-for-profit organisation and is governed by a Board of Directors and managed by professional staff. Netball NSW is the peak state sporting organisation responsible for the governance, development, promotion and administration of netball throughout New South Wales and is affiliated to Netball Australia.

Netball NSW provides the framework for approximately 115,000 registered members and over 150,000 total participants to enjoy netball at all levels throughout New South Wales. Our sport continues to grow both on and off the court and much of this success can be attributed to the wide range of programs, facilities and services Netball NSW offers to its members and participants - from the grassroots level through to the elite, professional level.

Netball NSW has a proud history of elite netball teams and athletes’ performances in national and international competition. Over 300 athletes have proudly represented NSW in elite competition since the inception of the national netball league in 1997 and then the ANZ Championship.  2017 saw the introduction of the Suncorp Super Netball, the top Australian domestic competition which includes two Netball NSW elite teams, the NSW Swifts and GIANTS Netball.
