About the Centre
The Boroondara Sports Complex YMCA has recently undergone an extensive, multi-million dollar redevelopment (2016). It is an important community facility and is just one of the four leisure and aquatic facilities that make up the Boroondara Leisure and Aquatic Facilities (BLAF).

Key Elements of the Role
The Teacher in Charge will be committed to forming trusted and effective relationships with our gymnastics members. They will ensure programs are conducted at the highest standard and the safety of our participants is paramount.
The position requires a passionate and motivated person who is committed to leading our team to deliver the highest quality of gymnastics. They will hold knowledge of all aspects of gymnastics coaches. They will provide leadership to gymnastics teachers through training, mentoring and supervision. They will also have a strong communication skill which enables them to communicate well with parents, students, coaches and management.

- Sets an example for parents by interacting, communicating, guiding, and setting clear boundaries and expectations for children in healthy and respectful ways.
- Demonstrated experience in working with children
Qualifications
YMCA, including Boards of Directors, is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding Children and Young People framework. YMCA requires that all applicants undergo satisfactory screening prior to commencement, including but not limited to:
- A national criminal history check;
- An international criminal history check where applicants have worked overseas;
- Holding or obtaining a Working with Children Clearance/ equivalent in accordance with state/ territory laws;
- ACF Safeguarding Children and Young People Certificate (completion online prior to commencement)
- Two reference checks.
Any successfully appointed applicant will be required to adhere to the Safeguarding Children and Young People framework, which includes a thorough safeguarding children and young people induction and committing to upholding the safety and wellbeing of children and young people throughout their engagement with YMCA.
