South Coast Group 7 Rugby League manages the development of Rugby League on the South Coast of NSW, with a successful Senior League comprising ten teams as well as Reserve Grade, Third Grade, Under-18's, Ladies League Tag and large Junior Rugby League competitions. There is currently an opportunity for an Operations Manager to join Group 7 and play a key role in the game's exciting future on the NSW South Coast.
THE ROLE
The Operations Manager will be responsible for the implementation of the South Coast Group 7 Rugby League Strategic Plan and direction of policy in relation to the development and administration of Senior & Junior Rugby League activities, with the aim of fostering and developing Rugby League. Reporting to the Chairman of the Senior and Junior Rugby League’s you will be responsible for the promotion of all Rugby League activities for male and female participants across all age groups within the South Coast Group 7 region.
The Operations Manager will carry out policy in relation to the development and administration of all Rugby League activities and the direction of staff; planning, launching and administering the Senior and Junior League compeitions including liaison with Clubs and maintenance of the competition draws. You will foster a collaborative and positive culture and build rapport with existing internal and external stakeholders to enhance working relationships across the game, as a representative to the NSW Rugby League, Greater Southern Region Rugby League and the merged compeitions (Group 7 & Illawarra). You will be accountable for budget planning, management and financial reporting as well as the acquisition and servicing of corporate sponsors, liaising with media for all Rugby League matters within the region. The Operations Manager will ensure the professional delivery of all policies and procedures, managing administration duties as directed by the Board and in compliance with Rugby League governance and State and Federal laws.
We are seeking an effective and proactive administrator to positively represent South Coast Group 7 in this important role. The ideal candidate will display a passion for Rugby League, an attention to detail, commitment, professionalism and integrity.
The successful candidate will have the following demonstrated knowledge, skills and qualifications:
- Knowledge of and experience in Rugby League administration an advantage
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and conflict resolution skills
- Financial management and commercial competency
- Knowledge of MySideline or similar database experience
- Competency in Windows including Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook
This is a permanent position, with the successful applicant actively working 38 hours per week, mainly performed between Monday and Friday, plus reasonable additional hours required to fulfil the requirements of the job.
