Kincoppal-Rose Bay School of the Sacred Heart, founded in 1882, is a leading independent Day and Boarding School located in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. The college is co-educational ELC-6, and girls only 7-12. At present, we are inviting applications for a Permanent Part-Time (0.85 FTE) Sport Administrator, commencing for Term 1, 2020 (23 January start).
The role:
- Permanent Part-Time, 32 hours per week
- 41 weeks per year (salary is averaged across the year)
- School Term (38wks):
- 6.45am-1.45pm Tues-Fri
- 7am-1pm Sat (attracts a weekend penalty)
- School Holidays (3wks: 1 each in Term 1, 2, 3 break)
- Administrative work related to weekday and Saturday sport, as well as special events and competitions.
- Assist with coordination of the use of sport facilities and management of equipment (including opening courts / fields each morning).
- Assist with scheduling of training and allocation / rostering of teams, coaches, and umpires
- Assist with attendance and participation records
- Assist with transport coordination and venue hire
- Undertake any other support duties as directed by the Head of Sport.
- NB this role is not student-facing, and is not involved in any coaching of teams, however if the successful appointee is qualified to coach in a seasonal sport that trains in the afternoon, they are able to undertake coaching duties for extra payment.
The ideal candidate:
- Essential:
- Prepared to commit to the goals of a Sacred Heart education and be an active and visible participant in the dynamic life of our school
- In possession of a valid Working with Children (WWC) number
- Qualification or equivalent 'junior' experience in Sport Management (recent graduates welcome)
- Demonstrated experience in administration, working with databases and record-keeping.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid IT skills.
- Friendly and personable demeanour with ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated interest in Sport.
- Desirable:
- Experience in the end to end administration of a seasonal sport cycle (i.e. registration -> weekly competition -> end of season).
- Exposure to / demonstrated experience in either Touch Football, Netball, Athletics, or Cross Country.
- Experience in a School Sporting context.
