History & Background
GBCC is one of the foundation Clubs of both the Sutherland Shire Junior Cricket Association and Sutherland Shire Cricket Association. With a rich history dating back to 1952, GBCC has always strived to be the premier cricket Club within the Sutherland Shire and redefine what it means to be a grassroots cricket Club.
The Social Secretary will be responsible for:
- Organising and coordinating Club social events;
- Working with the digital team to create event specific marketing material;
- Assisting in the organisation of practical events (e.g. training camps, gala days);
- Maximising attendances for events;
- Reporting to the GBCC Executive committee.
The Right Applicant
The right applicant must have an eagerness to want to learn within the context of a sporting organisation. They must have good time management and organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple components and stakeholders simultaneously. An understanding and appreciation of volunteer sporting organisations is desirable.
What GBCC Can Provide
This role will provide the right applicant with real world experience within the context of a sporting Club. While GBCC is an amateur sporting organisation, it is operated in a professional manner, sharing similarities with professional sporting organisations.
GBCC can also offer subsidised or waived training, registration and/ or uniform expenses, dependant on quantity and quality of work provided.
