Description

It is an exciting time for tennis in Australia and we have ambitious plans to continue to grow the game from grassroots through to high performance. To do this we are transforming how we deliver tennis, with the aim of offering more opportunities for more players and a greater role for personal coaches in identifying and developing our future talent.  We are now looking for a Talent Operations Manager (SA/NT) to join the team and help us deliver on these plans.  

Reporting to the National Development Squad Coach (SA/NT), you will be responsible for the implementation and management of the Zone Squads and age and gender-based team competitions whilst also supporting the delivery of the National Development Squad programs.  Additionally you will identify, select and support the Talent Development Coaches (private coach) in your respective state.
 
In this role you will:

  • Implement and manage Zone Squads, and age and gender-based team competitions
  • Identify, select and support Talent Development coaches
  • Support the delivery of National Academy Development Squad programs
  • Facilitate state and national camp offerings
  • Assist in facilitating the holistic development of Zone Squad players

What you will bring to this role:

  • Coaching qualification – High Performance (preferred)
  • Tennis Australia (TA) coach member or willingness to become a TA coach member
  • Tertiary qualification in Physical Education, Sport Science, Human Movement (preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of performance tennis coaching  and experience identifying talent coaches and athletes
  • Proven knowledge of all aspects of athlete development (technical, tactical, physical and mental)
  • Sound organisational and administration skills
  • Knowledge of international trends in tennis and tennis coaching
  • Demonstrated ability to build professional relationships with all stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking experience
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work in a challenging and changing environment
  • Flexibility regarding work schedules and training hours
  • Alignment with the Tennis values of Excellence, Humility, Collaboration and Imagination
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
