Frankston and Mornington Peninsula Flyers Swimming Club are seeking enthusiastic and energetic casual swim coaches to join our professional team of coaches and work in the junior and age group areas of the club. The successful candidate/s will initially be responsible for assisting the coach of the Junior and Intermediate squads with a focus on developing and supporting junior and age group swimmers at training and at swim meets.
Work hours will be approximately 8 hours per week, to begin with, with the possibility of more hours in the summer months and as the Club evolves. The Club also works closely with a number of schools with their PE classes and school swim teams, and work may become available through these relationships as well. The successful applicant/s will work in a team environment and will be supported as they grow and develop their coaching.
The Flyers are a proud and successful community-based swim club that has served the peninsula for over 40 years. Primarily based at Peninsula Aquatic and Recreation Centre (PARC) in Frankston, the Flyers Swim Club are undergoing an exciting era of change and are looking for a coach who will contribute in a positive and constructive manner.
The preferred qualification for applicants is the Development Coach Accreditation (formerly Bronze Licence). A coach who has their ‘Swim Australia Teacher of Competitive Swimming’ or an ‘Austswim Teacher of Towards Competitive Strokes’ and is already working towards or is willing to gain their Development Coach Accreditation, will also be considered.
A current Working with Children Check is required and any further qualifications including First Aid or Pool Lifeguard will be taken into consideration.
The position is subject to a 6-month probation period.
