Next Gen Health & Lifestyle Clubs consists of premium fitness, aquatic, wellness and racquet clubs in Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth and Auckland.
Next Gen Doncaster is planned to become one of Next Gen’s flagship locations, offering a premium level of service and luxury amenities not yet seen in Melbourne. The 11,000 metre² facility will feature latest innovations in training equipment, with a range of health, fitness and lifestyle amenities including a full suite of studio classes, resort-style indoor and outdoor heated pools, a premium spa retreat, four tennis courts, a members’ lounge and a licensed café.
Reporting to the Group Operations Manger, the General Manager - Doncaster will be responsible and accountable for driving sales, controlling expenditure, and exceeding customer service benchmarks while at the same time maintaining the highest possible operational standards through various revenue streams such as Food and Beverage, Fitness, Tennis and Aquatics.
The role will provide day-to-day management, staff leadership and overall direction of all operations including:
- Evolving and directing the business strategy to enable the Club to continue with its long term growth beyond the launch phase, aligned with strong profitability and cash generation;
- Continuing to nurture strong relationships across highly valued internal and external stakeholders (including landlords and anchor tenants); and
- Developing member relationships and key market contacts whilst ensuring business delivery excellence.
To be considered for this role, you will need to have significant senior management experience working within a member focussed, branded leisure or hospitality venue with a proven track record of taking the business forward financially and operationally.
You will need to have high levels of financial acumen and be able to drive commercial revenue through bringing in new, repeat and referral business consistently throughout the year.
Knowledge of the Doncaster and Greater Manningham market will be advantageous along with the following essential skill set:
- Demonstrated ability to build and develop teams;
- Ability to introduce a new brand into a competitive marketplace;
- Ability to launch and establish a major new club into the market;
- High levels of financial acumen and the ability to develop commercial revenue through all elements of the club;
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline;
- Significant experience and demonstrable track record of having operated a sustainable / profitable business within a service sector environment;
- A commercially astute business leader who is able to inspire confidence and build deep relationships of trust across a demographically diverse employee and high end client base; and
- Have the ability to balance intellect and strategic thinking with sound judgement, common sense and an innovative approach.
