PRINCIPAL DUTIES

  1. In consultation with the Hub Head Coach, assist with the planning and implementation of an integrated training program for a targeted group of categorised and/or identified athletes on an annual, weekly, and daily basis.
  2. Work with the Hub Head Coach to Prepare, deliver, monitor, and evaluate individual coaching sessions.
  3. Support athletes at domestic and international camps and competitions as required.
  4. Ensure an international performance focus incorporating leading edge initiatives.
  5. Assist the Hub Head Coach and support staff with the delivery of best practice performance support services to athletes in the critical areas of Sport Science & Sport Medicine (SSSM), Strength and Conditioning (S&C) and Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement (AW&E)
  6. Contribute to the Performance Culture of HP Swimming by way of Individual Athlete Performance Planning (IAPP) and Program Reporting.
  7. Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the delivery of an integrated holistic development program including education, dual career and personal development based on the individual needs of the athletes.
  8. From time-to-time, support and assist, within reasonable boundaries, SA activities including, but not limited to:
    • National Camps (Pathway and selected event and relays camps);
    • Intensive Rehabilitation (injury and illness, biomechanics and skill acquisition, physiological, psychology, strength and conditioning and personal excellence);
    • Research and Innovation, including athlete tracking and applied coach education and development; and
    • Athletes visiting the program under national direction.
    • Backfilling for the Hub Head Coach as required

General

  1. Partner with and work effectively and collaboratively across SA to achieve organisational goals, targets, and objectives.
  2. Provide regular updates to the Hub Head Coach, as required.
  3. In collaboration with the Hub Head Coach, proactively plan, manage, coordinate, track and run assigned tasks.
  4. Attend and participate in meetings and attend events as required.
  5. Uphold and foster a culture of high performance, excellence, and continuous improvement within SA.
  6. Conduct thorough self-checking of information and documentation.
  7. Maintaining project files and keeping documentation in order.
  8. Undertake other reasonable tasks as delegated by the National Head Coach or Hub Head Coach.
  9. Perform general office duties as required.
  10. Adopt continuous learning and improvement processes in all aspects of the position.
  11. Implement, participate, and promote SA Safe Sport Framework, values, policies, processes, and procedures.
