This exciting and important leadership role in our Netball Queensland team will provide the right individual with the opportunity to directly influence our continuing journey towards becoming a more inclusive sport, from grass roots to elite, and foster participation in and engagement with netball in diverse communities across Queensland.

We are responsible for the highly regarded Queensland Firebirds, the ever growing participation and delivery of netball in our Queensland communities and the management of our $45 million state of the art venue, Nissan Arena.
Leading a small team, The Manager - Diamond Spirit, Diversity and Inclusion has responsibility for initiation, implementation and continual improvement of our diversity and inclusion strategies and initiatives.
You will develop and implement innovative programs and initiatives that foster and promote diversity and inclusion in netball from grassroots to elite level, aligned to Netball Queensland strategic priorities. Through visible and clear leadership, you will promote diversity and inclusion in the netball community.
This includes the delivery of our highly regarded Diamond Spirit program, a holistic community engagement program, which uses netball as a vehicle to engage, empower, and educate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls in remote and regional communities across Queensland. As well as working in partnership with our dedicated RAP Coordinator to implement the Netball Queensland’s first Reconciliation Action Plan.
To be considered for this role you will need to be a someone with an engaging leadership style, a natural communicator, with excellent stakeholder management who can ensure the sustainability of strategic partnerships that advance diversity and inclusion at all levels of our sport.
A belief in the power of sport to transform lives and communities as well as demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities backgrounds is essential. Experience in and understanding of how to support individuals and communities with diverse and different needs within the sporting sector will also be highly regarded.
With bucket loads of energy and passion, your proven ability to foster and sustain positive relationships will be of prime importance as will your engaging approach and drive to make things happen.
