Kincoppal-Rose Bay School of the Sacred Heart, founded in 1882, is a leading Catholic Independent Day and Boarding School located in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs.  The college is co-educational ELC-6, and girls only 7-12.  

At present, we are inviting applications for a Permanent Part Time Head Sport Coach, commencing Term 1, 2022. Be part of the diverse and friendly staff community at our iconic harbourside campus, where you will be engaged to lead, manage, and develop the cohort of coaches across two sports, supporting the School's participation in seasonal programs and competitions.

Head Coach combinations on offer:

  • Strength & Conditioning / Athletics & Cross Country
  • Strength & Conditioning /  Touch Football
  • Athletics & Cross Country / Touch Football

Role structure:

  • Commences Tuesday 25 January 2022 (KRB new staff day)
  • Permanent Part Time: 22hrs per week
  • 38 weeks per year (School term-time only: role is ‘stood down’ during non-term time)
  • Roster:
    • Monday to Friday: 6.45 - 8.45am
    • Tues to Thurs: 3.45-5.45pm (in addition to morning shift)
    • Sat: 7am - 1pm

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Be the technical subject matter expert and visible ‘face’ of your chosen sports.
  • Assist Sport Coordinators with overall execution of seasonal sport cycles.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and advice to coaches in each program.
  • Ensure coaches are delivering high quality coaching reflective of current best practice.
  • Active coaching and supervision at training sessions and Saturday matches.
  • Run team trials and selections.
  • Assist with scheduling of training and allocation / rostering of teams, coaches, and umpires.
  • Assist with coordination of the use of sport facilities and management / set up of equipment.
  • Assist with maintenance of attendance and participation records.

The ideal candidate:

  • Prepared to commit to the goals of a Sacred Heart education and be an active and visible participant in the dynamic life of our school.
  • MUST HAVE: Appropriate coaching qualifications (and/or equivalent elite-level experience) in both applicable sports.
  • MUST HAVE: Demonstrated success as a coach in both sports, with a track record of achieving results and working with all ability levels.
  • MUST HAVE: Demonstrated experience building capacity in junior coaches through development and upskilling.
  • MUST HAVE: Excellent communication and relationship building skills to drive motivation and engagement amongst players.
  • GREAT TO HAVE: Experience working in an Independent School, coaching teams to participate in the IGGSA and IPSHA seasonal cycles.
