Western Sydney Academy is one of nine independent not-for-profit Regional Academies of Sport across NSW, delivering holistic athlete development programs to the region’s talented young athletes. The Academy’s pre-elite athlete programs are recognised and endorsed by the NSW Government and State Sporting Organisations. The Athlete Program Manager role engages with all key stakeholders including Government and corporate partners, program coaching and administrative volunteer staff, athletes and parents, and program venue and service providers - with the purpose of delivering these high quality programs’ content for the benefit of athletes and coaches.
The Academy’s Athlete Program Manager is responsible for the planning and implementation of programs provided by the Academy on an annual basis, in consultation with the Academy’s Chief Executive Officer. These programs cover a wide range of sports including BMX Riding, Track & Road Cycling, Golf, Netball, Rowing, Softball, Triathlon, Rugby Union, Volleyball and Individual Athletes.
This is a full-time role requiring a strong knowledge of the sporting sector, athlete high performance environments and logistics. Other requisite skills and knowledge include strong communication skills, a proven track record in planning and delivering programs/projects to meet objectives, and proven skills using Microsoft Office software.
