Cranbrook School is seeking a full-time Learn to Swim Coordinator to join its Aquatic & Fitness Centre, based at the Senior School campus at Bellevue Hill.


The Learn to Swim Coordinator will oversee and continue to build the Learn to Swim program for Cranbrook School and the wider community in our brand new, state of the art Aquatic & Fitness Centre.

Reporting to the Head of Aquatics, the role will be responsible for the implementation and management of a safe, professional and well-organised Learn to Swim Program.

The Learn to Swim Coordinator will develop and implement training policies and coaching programs for all levels of swimmers, manage a team of Learn to Swim coaches and work closely with teaching staff on curriculum development and delivery.  

The Learn to Swim Coordinator will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Learn to Swim program including administration, logistics, equipment, recruitment and training of staff and coaches, budgeting and reporting. The Learn to Swim Coordinator will continuously seek opportunities to grow and improve the Learn to Swim program.


You are an enthusiastic Learn to Swim professional who has a passion for delivering high quality learning programs. You will have a deep understanding of the processes and procedures required to manage an effective and efficient Learn to Swim program. A hands-on leader, you have a demonstrated skill in managing and coordinating a team of coaches. You are customer service focused and committed to providing an excellent user experience.

Key Selection Criteria

  • At least five years’ experience running a Learn to Swim program
  • More than 5 years Learn to Swim coaching experience operating at all levels
  • Demonstrated understanding of competency-based development programs
  • Strong management and co-ordination skills including people management and financial management
  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (or equivalent)
  • Current Senior First Aid and CPR qualifications
  • Current driver’s license to operate a 24-seat bus (desirable but not required)
