About the position

ACPE is seeking a suitably qualified academic to carry out teaching and administration of finance related units within the Sports Business Department. The role will require to work with the Head of Department and the Sports Business team and engage in the design and delivery of programmes that maximise student engagement and contribute to an exceptional student learning experience. The successful applicant will contribute to the development of the Sports Business Department’s reputation as a leader in the field of sports business studies. As a member of the Sport Business Department, you will be expected to contribute to the broader College community and to be committed to the strategic improvement of the Sports Business offering.

The position is a 0.4 FTE load, with attendance at the College required one day per week.


  • Conduct lectures, seminars, tutorials, workshops as required at undergraduate and postgraduate level in an on campus and digital form (e.g., online, and remote teaching).
  • Develop unit and course curriculum materials including assessment tasks for both on campus and online delivery.
  • Engage in assessment and moderation processes.
  • Be involved in evaluating learning and teaching, both at the unit level and in relation to their own practice.
  • Undertake administration primarily relating to their activities at the College as directed by their Head of Department, including providing written unit and moderation reports, assessment data and reports.
  • Engage in scholarly development and engagement in their discipline area.
  • Attend College meetings and other events or activities as required by the Head of Department.
  • Coordinate or lead the activities of other staff as appropriate to their appointment level.
  • Work collaboratively across the College academic and associated departments.

Qualifications, experience, and skills

To be considered for the position candidates will need to meet the following criteria:


  • At a minimum hold a master’s degree in a related discipline relevant to the role offered in the Sport Business Department:
    • Accounting
    • Finance and Economics
    • MBA
  • Experience in teaching in the higher education sector


  • Industry experience gained through professional roles.
  • Experience in using Learning Management Systems such as Canvas.
  • A professional network which can add value to the Sport Business Department and to the learning environment of students.
