We deliver a range of programs that seek to overcome disadvantage and ultimately build the capacity and opportunity for territorians to enjoy the benefits and life experiences that sport provides. With a strong presence across the NT and Central Australia, we are seeking to recruit to strengthen our connection to the communities we serve. Our organisation has utilised casual employees and part-time coaches up to now. With exciting growth, increased interest and new programs launching we are excited to offer the right person the opportunity to work in the sports industry on a full-time or part-time basis. This opportunity will not be your average 9-5.

ABOUT US

At High Calibre Sports, we work across all regions of the NT to deliver multi-sports programs. Through our “Sports Buddies” initiative we work with individuals with a disability to build capacity and opportunity to participate in mainstream sports. We have developed strong relationships with various Government departments, regional councils and private organisations. We deliver a range of programs on an ongoing and ad-hoc basis.

We are committed to the development and safety of our clients. This commitment involves several screening processes, including ensuring the successful candidate holds a valid Working with Children/Vulnerable People check and a satisfactory criminal history record check.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an energetic and values-driven individual to deliver sports programs throughout the NT. A successful applicant will work with the Coaching Director, various casual staff and volunteers to deliver high quality, fast paced sporting programs. This role will offer the opportunity to travel extensively through some of Australia’s most exceptional landscapes and to share your experience and passion with people of all walks of life. You will also deliver programs throughout the Darwin region. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and deliver consistent and engaging multi-sports programs.
  • Collaborate with partner organisations to maximise engagement and achieve social impact.
  • Provide support and mentorship to individuals through our “Sports Buddies” Initiative.
  • Deliver in-school programs to enhance school attendance.
  • Engage with external stakeholders to promote our programs and initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and participation data.
  • Travel to various and remote locations of the NT and Central Australia 
  • Bring the love of sport to those who don't have access to it everyday

OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER

Core Competencies:

  • Can work autonomously and manage actions effectively.
  • Is confident with interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse groups.
  • Has flexibility and willingness to travel to remote communities and work occasional weekends if needed.
  • Cross-cultural awareness and experience working with Aboriginal communities will be highly regarded.
  • Strong self-awareness.
  • Ability to adhere to the policies and structures of High Calibre Sports.
  • Strong applicable knowledge of sports (the more the better) - qualifications and experience highly regarded.
  • Lived experience related to disability or previous experience in the disability sector will be highly regarded.
  • Confident and flexible in their ability to deliver various sports.
