Lacrosse Australia (LA) is the national governing body for Lacrosse in Australia, overseeing the governance, growth and development of the sport, working with Member Associations and providing High Performance opportunities for athletes, coaches, officials and administrators.
We are seeking a highly collaborative Head of High Performance (HP) to lead our HP strategy toward the LA Olympic Games in 2028 and beyond.
About the role
This is a very exciting time for the sport of Lacrosse, being recently included into the Summer 2028 Olympic Games roster and a remarkable opportunity for a candidate looking to be part of something special.
This is a critical role for our sport and as the Head of High Performance you will lead all aspects of Lacrosse Australia’s elite athlete programs; including the senior men’s and women’s teams, junior development pathways, emerging talent initiatives, and the pathway to podium in LA28.
The successful candidate will embrace the “Win Well” strategy set by the Australian sporting sector to build an inclusive and sustainable sporting system that is: Performance Driven, Athlete Focused, Exceptionally Led & Purposefully Collaborative.
Reporting to the General Manager and accountable to the Board of Lacrosse Australia the successful applicants’ duties will include.
- Implementation and execution of the National High-Performance strategy.
- Ensure the effective delivery of world-class daily training and competition environments, maintaining a culture that promotes high-performance and ensures the wellbeing of athletes and staff.
- Leadership & management of High-Performance Program staff and support networks.
- Lead and monitor national teams’ performance including plans for pathway to podium athletes.
- Manage a broad range of internal & external stakeholder relationships.
- Monitor, review and manage policies and their application as relevant to the performance programs.
- Prepare and deliver reports to the Lacrosse Australia Board, as required.
About you
We are looking for someone with the following traits and experiences:
- Experience in the management and/or administration of HP sport programs at the national or international level.
- A comprehensive understanding of the Australian HP Sport System and international sporting landscape.
- Advanced and proven contemporary leadership skills with the ability to positively influence.
- Ability to cultivate positive networks and partnerships.
- Experience in senior leadership, management, or high-level coaching positions.
- An authentic, driven individual with high levels of resilience and self-awareness.
- A willingness to roll up the sleeves and 'do' the doing.

Position location
This is a remote working opportunity. The role will require interstate and overseas travel.
