The GIANTS are on an exciting journey both on and off the field. With teams in the AFL, the AFL Women’s League and Super Netball competitions, the GIANTS truly are a club like no other.

On field, the AFL team has quickly grown into one of the competition’s most exciting teams with several players becoming household names across the country. Likewise, the on-field achievements of our AFL Women’s and GIANTS Netball teams are seeing the club connect with more fans and followers than ever before.

Off field, the club’s exciting, innovative, and fresh brand is growing as it engages with members, fans, the community and key stakeholders across Western Sydney, Canberra and Nationally.

The GIANTS AFL and AFL Women’s teams are based at the club’s elite training and administration facility in Sydney Olympic Park, with GIANTS Netball based adjacent at Netball Central.

Position Purpose

We are seeking a talented and creative Junior Graphic Designer with a passion for sports to join our dynamic Marketing team. This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their design skills and gain hands-on experience while working for a bold and growing club. The ideal candidate will be motivated to contribute to creative campaigns and brand initiatives that drive engagement, excitement, and visibility for the GIANTS.

As a Junior Graphic Designer, you will collaborate closely with the design team, working across various channels and touchpoints to create compelling campaigns, engaging visual content, and presentations that drive both consumer interaction and commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation of both digital and print materials, including advertisements, social media visuals, event posters, merchandise designs, and more.
  • Ensure the consistent application of the GIANTS brand style guide across all marketing materials and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, social media, etc.) to align on creative needs, ensuring priorities and deadlines are met.
  • Execute creative concepts, revisions, and adaptations based on feedback from senior designers and project stakeholders.
  • Help manage and organise design files and assets to ensure they are easily accessible for collaboration and reference.
  • Support the creation of compelling presentations, reports, and marketing collateral to effectively communicate brand messages.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, attention to detail, and consistency in all design work.
  • Stay up-to-date with current design trends, tools, and best practices, contributing fresh ideas and innovations to the design process.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in graphic design (industry or internship experience).
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
  • Experience with Adobe After Effects is a plus.
  • A passion for sports and an understanding of the sports industry, preferably with some experience or internships in this area.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both creative and non-creative teams.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proactive, creative, and detail-oriented with a strong eye for design and branding consistency.
  • A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a willingness to take feedback and grow in the role.

Desirable

  • Knowledge or experience working within the sports marketing or entertainment sector.
  • Familiarity with print production processes and working with printers to execute designs.
  • An understanding of the GIANTS’ brand identity and core values is a plus.
