Emil Madsen Reserve is a premier sporting and community venue in Mount Eliza. For our junior footballers, it hosts 14 home and away rounds, three (3) rounds of finals, and approximately two (2) rounds of practice matches. Matches are typically Sundays, with the very occasional Friday night fixture. The season runs April to August/Sept.
We are seeking a volunteer Venue Manager for Emil Madsen across the 2025 season.
Key Responsibilities
Manage match day requirements at MEJFC home ground (Emil Madsen Reserve), in line with AFLSE Competition By-Laws
Assist in coordinating the set-up and pack-up of the venue (including locking up as appropriate). Set-up tends to start at least one (1) hour before the first match
Assist in liaising with waste management providers, security company, cleaners, line-markers, grounds people and related venue service providers
Assist in venue managing social events, approximately one (1) per month
Assist in working bees, approximately two (2) per season
Help coordinate venue bookings, and maintain basic records of room usage (e.g. changerooms) across the venue
Help ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, liquor licensing, and council policies.
About You
18 years of age or older (as at 27 April 2025)
Strong leadership and customer service
Excellent communicator and stakeholder manager
Basic knowledge of league & shire regulations, health and safety compliance, and event logistics
Current ‘Working with Children Check’ (or equivalent)
