Brisbane State High School are seeking to appoint a Head Coach for the Open Girls Netball team - on a part time basis for the 2025 QGSSSA season. This is an exciting opportunity to work with many representative netball players at the schoolgirls level. This position is a volunteer role.

About the role

Reporting to the Director of QGSSSA Sport through the Master In Charge of BSHS Netball, the Head Coach will provide comprehensive high-performance coaching and skills development programs to ensure the Opens team is competitive in the highly regarded QGSSSA competition.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Attendance at all trials for selection of the QGSSSA Open Netball team.
  • Planning and implementation of pre-season and in-season programs which enable excellence in individual preparation and performance.
  • Skills analysis of individual players and implementing individuals’ skill development strategies.
  • Performance review of individual players at the end of each training phase.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the NQ netball matrix skills for players in the squad.

About you

The successful applicant must have:

  • Intermediate Level or higher Coaching Accreditation
  • Minimum of 2 years coaching experience at a an equivalent team level
  • Proven ability to formulate and manage representative training programs and squad preparation.
  • Proven ability to develop players that are ready to perform at a representative level.
  • Strong team leadership, communication, and strategist skills with demonstrated experience in building teams and fostering a team-first culture.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relations coupled with strong presentation skills.
  • In depth knowledge of all technical aspects of netball
  • Proven experience to work in a team environment.
  • Current Queensland Working with Children Check (or the ability to obtain one)

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant Coaching Accreditation
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
  • Intermediate or higher coaching accreditation
  • Blue card or the ability to apply for and attain one
