The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has awarded Football Australia hosting rights for the 2026 edition of the AFC Women's Asian Cup™. This marks Australia's second time hosting the event, after previously staging it in 2006, and follows the success of co-hosting the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup™.
You will be part of a Local Organising Committee (LOC), which has been established for the sole purpose of delivering the 2026 edition of the AFC Women's Asian Cup™ in Australia.
This prestigious event will bring together 12 nations in a tournament structured into three groups of four. We are eager to create another tournament that celebrates women's football and multicultural Australia and also delivers legacy outcomes for football and Australian society more broadly.

Your Next Big Match
We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Fan Experience Coordinator to join the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026™ Local Organising Committee. This role will support the delivery of fanfocused experiences at all tournament stadiums, ensuring fan zones are vibrant, inclusive, and engaging.
The coordinator will play a critical role in managing the stadium fan activation zones, coordinating the activities of fan experience volunteers, and supporting the General Manager - Fan Experience and Events with merchandising initiatives at venues. This is an exciting opportunity to bring joy to fans and help create a tournament to remember.
Please note that this role is fixed term until 31st March 2026.
- Plan and execute fan zones, including entertainment, food, and cultural activities; ensure inclusivity and alignment with tournament themes.
- Draft public-facing fan information and support marketing teams with fan guides, maps, and FAQs.
- Collaborate with suppliers, agencies, and partners to ensure activations meet quality, safety, and branding standards.
- Work with the volunteer team to deploy and manage fan experience volunteers, including training and on-site roles.
- Assist with merchandising planning and operations at venues, ensuring supply, display, and sales processes are effective.
- Aid the General Manager with planning, reporting, and match day execution; liaise with venue teams to align fan experience delivery.

What Gets You in the Game?
- 2–3 years’ experience in event coordination, fan engagement, or related field.
- Experience working on major events or in high-volume public environments.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience coordinating volunteers or customer-facing teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with planning documents and schedules.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work with agility, foster trust, embrace inclusivity, collaborate as one united team, and consistently strive for excellence.

- Working with children check (paid/employee) or state-based equivalent
- International Criminal History Record for each country (other than Australia) in which you have resided for 12 months or more in the last 10 years (if applicable)
- Out of hours and weekend work as required
- Our roles are based at Moore Park in Sydney
