UniSport Australia is seeking Photographer and Videographer Volunteers to be part of 2025 UniSport Nationals taking place in Gold Coast from 27 September - October 03 2025. These roles assist in sourcing images and video for feature stories and capturing media of various sports, sporting teams, volunteers, special and social events at the 2025 Nationals.

UniSport Australia (UniSport) is the peak governing body of university sport in Australia.

We promote and foster the importance of university sport as an integral part of university life at 43 member universities, who collectively represent more than one million students nationwide. UniSport hosts some of the largest and most highly anticipated university sporting competitions in the Australian sporting calendar and represent the pinnacle of student-athlete participation nationally.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will involve:

• Identify and capture images/video of any allocated sport at Nationals, special events and ceremonies which will be used by UniSport media and marketing channels with full usage rights
• Work with journalists to supply shots or DSLR video to accompany their stories
• Meet strict edited image and video deadlines during event time
• Assist in the download, labelling, sorting/selection, editing and supply of digital imagery daily during the event
• The distribution of your edited photos and media via internet portal for dissemination by UniSport
• Other duties as required

Is this role for you? Our Photographer and Videographer roles would suit a person studying photography or videography and someone who has their own image and video capturing equipment.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has their own DSLR camera with telephoto lens
• Good computer skills and your own laptop
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to take the initiative
• A friendly and approachable manner
• Attend compulsory training sessions to ensure that you are familiar with event policies and procedures
• Conduct self in a professional manner by being punctual and reliable
• Experience in dealing with a wide variety of people
• Ability to priorities and meet deadlines
• DSLR photography experience
• Well-developed customer service and problem-solving skills
• Attend the entire duration of the Nationals
• Wear the event uniform as required and be neatly groomed at all times

Key information:

• This is an event time role requiring availability for 2025 Nationals - Gold Coast from the 27 September to 03 October.
• No accommodation or travel expenses will be covered.
• The volunteer is responsible for the insurance and safety of their photographic gear.
• Image copyright remains with the volunteer for their portfolio post event. UniSport will have full usage rights.
• We will try our best to match you to sports you are familiar with/interested in but can’t guarantee you will be allocated to particular sports.
• A full induction to UniSport, training, uniform, and meals (when on shift) will be provided.
• A minimum of 3 shifts will need to be committed to for this role.
