Water Polo Queensland (WPQ) is the recognised governing body for water polo in Queensland. We are committed to growing the sport through inclusive programs, meaningful partnerships, and a connected community across grassroots and elite levels.

We are seeking a motivated and creative Marketing & Media Coordinator to deliver daily digital content, media engagement, and commercial partnership support across our competitions, events, and programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage a marketing and content calendar across social media platforms
• Create and schedule daily content on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and X (formerly Twitter)
• Draft and design tailored sponsorship proposals and brand presentations
• Capture content and media at key WPQ events (e.g., QPL, State Titles, Thunder matches)
• Assist with updating WPQ’s website, writing media releases, and managing digital campaigns
• Collaborate with club representatives, volunteers, and external partners for content sourcing
• Contribute to promotional campaigns, branded collateral, and public relations initiatives

Selection Criteria

Essential:

• Experience in marketing or media/communications roles
• Excellent written and visual storytelling skills for social and digital platforms
• Proficiency in Canva, Meta Business Suite, Microsoft Office, YouTube, LinkedIn, and X
• Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
• Current (or the ability to obtain) Working With Children Check (Blue Card) (QLD)

Desirable but not essential:

• Photography and basic videography skills, especially in live or sporting environments
• Experience in the sport, events, or not-for-profit sectors
