Casey Demons Football Club is an aligned Club with the Melbourne Football Club and seen as an integral part of player development of MFC players and a great environment for the development of VFL listed players.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Club is seeking to appoint a VFL Senior Coach - Casey Demons in a full-time, maximum term capacity, commencing from November 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to coach the Casey Demons VFL team and deliver a high-performance program consistent with Melbourne Football Club.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Reporting directly to the Head of Development, the key areas of responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement the VFL Coaching strategy and program in alignment with the AFL program
- Provide strong leadership to the VFL group that encourages a supportive team environment consistent with the Club’s values.
- Work closely with the List Management team in recruiting and retaining talented VFL players
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all players and coaching staff, as well as the broader football department
- Act as a role model in creating a professional & disciplined culture for players, coaches and staff which reflect the Club’s core values.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You are someone who has proven experience in a key leadership or coaching role within the AFL, or similar, with a strong understanding of the high-performance demands of elite football. You will possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, along with excellent presentation, time management, and planning abilities, allowing you to lead effectively and build strong relationships across all levels.
You are someone who can manage, develop, and motivate both staff and players, driving consistent elite-level performance. In addition, you will also bring a data-driven mindset, with the ability to analyse, interpret, and communicate performance data to inform strategic coaching decisions.
You will be required to work on match days and other events which may be outside of normal business hours.
