This role is suited to an Early Career Sports Scientist, keen to develop swimming-specific movement science skills, including integrated biomechanics, performance analysis and skill acquisition, learning from the expert Performance Support teams at the QAS.
Your contribution and key accountabilitiesÂ
- Develop world-leading evidence-based Movement Science servicing skills (integrated biomechanics, skill acquisition and performance analysis) and the ability to provide evidence-based advice to elite Swimmers and Coaches.
- Work collaboratively with the QAS Senior Movement Scientists and other Performance Support Team staff to ensure support is targeted and effective.
- Work collaboratively with the QAS Senior Movement Scientists to upskill in the utilisation of the QAS Recovery Centre testing environment to undertake world-class biomechanical analysis of swimming performance.
- Work collaboratively with the QAS Senior Movement Scientists to ensure movement science technology is available and usable in the Hub training environments in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast Hubs.
- Assist Movement Science staff to deliver specific and relevant performance testing, tracking and monitoring for categorised athletes and provide timely feedback to the Coaches, Athletes and Performance Support Team members.
- Develop skills to work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team, establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders to help identify, lead and deliver high-quality integrated outcomes.
