The Role
The First XVIII Football Coach will play a pivotal role in enhancing and leading our flagship football program at Caulfield Grammar School. As a cornerstone of our school's sport offerings, this position is crucial in upholding our high standards of football development, student inclusion, and quality coaching. Caulfield Grammar School takes immense pride in its renowned AFL/AFLW program, supported by a strong pathway initiative that benefits both boys and girls.
We are seeking a passionate and suitably experienced high-performance coach to lead the 1st XVIII Boys team on a fixed-term part-time (15 – 20hrs a week) capacity. The successful candidate will bring elite coaching expertise, strong game strategy and will foster a high-performance environment that balances competitive success with student wellbeing, character development, and sportsmanship.
Key Duties
- Lead the 1st XVIII Boys Team promoting a consistent and contemporary game style and clear performance goals and standards
- Oversee team and player development and ensure that all team selection in accordance with CGS Selection Policy guidelines and communication with students is timely and appropriate
- Represent the 1st XVIII Boys and CGS Football Program at events such as Presentation, Information Nights, Inductions, Premiership Assemblies etc. as required
- Collaborate with the Head of Football to manage resourcing, scheduling and oversight of matches, training sessions, and other football-related events for the 1st XVIII program.
- Explore, present and deliver strategies to further promote and strengthen the 1st XVIII Team and submit reports on program performance and development.
- Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience coaching at an elite level (AFL, Secondary School or Community)
- The ability to effectively plan and implement a structured coaching curriculum/program.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and relate to a diverse range of stakeholders including coaches, students, and parents.
- Strong leadership and relationship skills with the ability to engage and motivate others.
- Ability to design and deliver a structured, high-impact coaching curriculum
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to the values of Caulfield Grammar School
- Have a Victoria?Employment Working with Children Check, Level 1 First Aid and Anaphylaxis Certification or be prepared to obtain these
- Level 2 Coaching Accreditation will be highly regarded
