About Us:
The Sandringham Football Club, nicknamed “The Zebras”, is an Australian Rules football club based in Sandringham, Melbourne. The Club was formed in 1929 and manages teams playing in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and the Victorian Football League Women’s (VFLW).
The Sandringham Football Club is looking for a Strength & Conditioning Assistant (intern) to assist our VFL High Performance Manager throughout the 2026 VFL season.
This is a fantastic volunteer opportunity for current students, recent graduates and individuals who are looking to gain valuable experience in the football/sporting industry. Successful candidates will be required to attend two training sessions each week in pre-season and one training session each week throughout the 2026 VFL season.
Key Tasks:
Facilitate rehab programs
Facilitate and coach strength programs
Develop both resistance training & conditioning programs
Experience Gained:
Pre-season and in-season program implementation
Working within a professional sporting club with high level athletes
Working within a team of Doctors / Physiotherapists / Dietitians / Strength and Conditioning Coaches
Interpersonal skills
The successful candidate will ideally possess:
Ambition to learn and take on responsibility
An understanding of physical responses to various training methods
Estimated start date - November 2025 (flexible)
Essential Requirements
Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
Completed or completing a Human Movement / Coaching / Exercise / Sports Science Degree
