This is a full-time role – commencing Term 1, 2026

The Head Coach plays a key leadership role within the School’s Rugby programme, providing strategic, technical and cultural direction across all aspects of performance. The position is responsible for leading the First XV environment and contributing to the broader development of rugby at Churchie.

Through effective leadership, mentorship and collaboration, the Head Coach will create a culture that promotes humility, respect and excellence. In doing so, they will demonstrate initiative in driving continuous improvement and inspire students to grow as players, teammates and young men of character.

Key requirements for this role include:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Rugby, supported by relevant qualifications and demonstrated success in school and representative environments.
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and lead teams effectively.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with strong computer literacy across platforms commonly used in Rugby coaching and performance analysis (e.g. Hudl).
  • Ability to build and sustain high-performing teams, fostering a culture of trust, respect, humility and continuous improvement among players, coaches and colleagues.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the capacity to form and maintain positive professional relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.
  • Current and appropriate First Aid qualifications.

All staff at Churchie are expected to support the philosophies of the School, must either hold or be able to obtain a Blue Card and/or be registered with the Queensland College of Teachers.
