Description

Old Haileybury Amateur Football Club is looking to recruit Sports Trainers for the upcoming VAFA season. The club has a proud history of success including recent premierships for both the Men’s and Women’s team. There are several teams that play under the OHAFC banner including Senior Men’s (A Grade), Senior Women’s (Div 1), Reserve Men’s and U19’s Men’s (Div 1).

We are looking for passionate, hard working and team orientated sport trainers and student physiotherapists to fill roles within our club.

Unique advantages of the role:

  • Work in an experienced football environment with former AFL players, several VFL listed players and a coaching staff of ex and current AFL players.
  • Work within a professional clinical team including physiotherapists currently working in elite sport and academic research.
  • A diverse multi disciplinary team including, Physiotherapists, Strength and Conditioning Coaches, Data Analysts and a Remedial Massage Therapist 
  • Research collaborations with Monash University and Deakin University, along with working relationships with JOSPT.
  • Potential opportunities to work with GPS, force plates, gold standard strength and conditioning software, injury surveillance systems and strength testing equipment.

Key tasks include:

  • Assisting with preparation strategies and post match recovery, including activation, warm up, strapping, soft tissue management and cool down.
  • Assisting with match day and training injury management and rehabilitation, return to running management, strength based rehabilitation and load monitoring.
  • Assisting with player screening, wellness monitoring and data analysis on training and matchdays.

  • A valid Level 2 First Aid and Working with Children’s Check

This role requires weeknight and weekend work, either Tuesday/Thursday approximately 5:30-8pm in Caulfield and mostly Saturday games in the eastern suburbs.
