Run for the Kids is one of Melbourne’s largest and most loved community events, raising vital funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. Thousands of runners and walkers will take on the unique course through Docklands and Southbank, including Bolte Bridge and the Domain Tunnel - and it all happens thanks to the incredible volunteers.
We’re now recruiting volunteers to help deliver Run for the Kids 2026.
Why volunteer?
Volunteering at Run for the Kids is your chance to:
- Support sick children and their families through the Good Friday Appeal
- Be part of a positive, high-energy iconic event
- Meet new people and enjoy a fun, rewarding day
- Receive a volunteer T-shirt, cap, event briefing and catering on event day
No previous experience is required - just enthusiasm and a willingness to help.
Volunteer roles available
There are a range of roles to suit different interests and abilities, including:
- Course Marshals
- Drink Station Assistants
- Start and Finish Line Marshals
- Information and Participant Support
- Bag Drop Assistants
- Volunteer Check-in and Workforce Support
Roles are allocated based on availability and preference.
Who can volunteer?
- Individuals or groups
- Volunteers aged 16 years and over
- Volunteers under 16 may attend when supervised by an adult
