About the Role
Cricket ACT is seeking an experienced and motivated leader to oversee the ACT Meteors program and related Academy pathways. This role will lead the delivery of a high-performance program that supports the development of elite female cricketers while establishing a strong team culture, clear playing identity, and high standards on and off the field.
Working closely with the Head of Cricket Performance, the successful candidate will lead the planning and delivery of training and competition programs, support individual player development, and collaborate with specialist staff to maximise athlete outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and embed a strong team culture, playing identity and performance standards aligned with Cricket ACT’s strategic direction.
- Lead and mentor players and staff within a high-performance environment underpinned by strong planning and review processes.
- Drive individual player development through Individual Performance Plans (IPPs).
- Identify, develop and transition emerging talent from ACT pathways and the Meteors Development Squad into elite cricket.
- Design and implement annual training and competition plans, including session planning, match preparation, and player monitoring.
- Work collaboratively with strength & conditioning, medical and specialist coaches to deliver integrated development programs.
- Provide regular program updates and end-of-season reporting to the Head of Cricket Performance.
- Manage program budgets and ensure compliance with Cricket ACT and Cricket Australia high-performance frameworks, including AMS/Teamworks requirements.
- Build strong relationships across Cricket ACT, Cricket Australia, State Associations and Premier Cricket.
About You
The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of elite cricket environments and the ability to lead and develop athletes in a high-performance setting.
You will demonstrate:
- Experience coaching elite athletes and/or high-level playing experience.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of cricket and modern coaching practices.
- The ability to incorporate sports science and sports medicine principles into player development programs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with players, staff and stakeholders.
- A professional approach, strong work ethic and commitment to high standards.
Essential Requirements
- Cricket Australia Level 3 Coaching Accreditation
- Current Working with Children Check
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
