Cricket Tasmania is the governing body for cricket in Tasmania and promotes and develops the game of cricket throughout the State. Our purpose is to inspire, engage and entertain our communities on and beyond the field of play.

At Cricket Tasmania we strive to be a leader in sport and entertainment, delivering memorable experiences for all communities, and recognise our people are critical in achieving this vision. You will be joining a smart and energetic team who genuinely enjoy the work that we do and the positive impact it has in the community.

About the role and about you

Cricket Tasmania has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced coach (or coaches) to lead the male high performance bowling programs.

This unique opportunity has been designed with flexibility in mind and may be appointed in one of the following ways, depending on experience, skillset and availability of applicants:

  • a full-time fixed-term Bowling Coach role aligned to the Tasmanian Tigers program (Sheffield Shield / One Day Cup), and/or
  • a fixed-term Bowling Coach role aligned to the Hobart Hurricanes program (BBL), aligned to the BBL season.

There may also be the opportunity for an appropriately skilled and available candidate to be appointed across both programs.

The successful candidate(s) will lead and manage the ongoing development of individual players and contribute to team performance across the Tasmanian Tigers and/or Hobart Hurricanes teams. These programs compete at the highest level of domestic cricket, and the role will play a critical part in preparing bowlers for success at both domestic and international level.

We are seeking a coach with demonstrable success at domestic and/or international level, with experience working with elite and emerging fast bowlers and spin bowlers. Of high importance is the ability to motivate, influence and develop a diverse group of professional cricketers through a people-first coaching philosophy.

The Bowling Coach role provides an exciting opportunity to build upon the success of our male programs and enhance individual player progression toward national representation. The role requires excellent planning and organisational skills, proven experience in designing and implementing bowling programs, and the ability to measure and track performance outcomes. A strong capacity to create energy, set standards and positively influence both athletes and staff is essential.

The successful candidate(s) will demonstrate highly effective interpersonal skills and the ability to connect and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including head coaches, performance staff and support teams. We are seeking a proactive and positive individual with a commitment to continuous professional development, who embraces innovation, data-informed coaching and best practice in high-performance environments.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the bowling identity across Tasmania's elite male programs, with the structure of the role tailored to maximise coaching expertise, program impact and seasonal demands.

What's in it for you?

  • Be part of an encouraging and successful sporting organisation
  • Build your skills in a high-performing and professional environment
  • Work in a dynamic, flexible and progressive workplace
  • Enjoy the excitement of professional sport and the opportunity to give back to the community

You will also have access to employee benefits including a flexible working environment, learning and development opportunities, access to a national network through the Australian Cricket family, and world-class facilities in a stunning location.
