THE ROLE

The Scots College is seeking a dynamic and visionary Cricket – Head of Performance to lead the technical direction and coaching excellence of our Cricket program. The primary purpose of this role is to drive the performance of the program across the entire College. This is an elite leadership position focused on the development of a College-wide curriculum, the mentoring of our coaching staff, and the implementation of professional learning strategies that ensure our program remains at the forefront of schoolboy sport within the AAGPS and IPSHA competitions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES PERFORMANCE & CURRICULUM:

Develop and implement a comprehensive Cricket Performance Curriculum that supports the developmental needs of students from junior levels through to the senior teams. As a focal point of this role, you will personally lead and coach the College 1st XI.

ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT:

In collaboration with the Strength and Conditioning team, oversee player development tracking, workload management (specifically for bowlers), and monitoring systems to optimise performance and long-term physical health for players across all age groups.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

Design and manage a Professional Development Strategy for staff, including organising guest speakers, high-performance clinics, and maintaining a repository of modern technical and tactical coaching resources.

CULTURE & ALIGNMENT:

In conjunction with the Head of Operations, ensure the program community—staff, students, and parents—operates in total alignment with the College’s vision, mission, and values.

COMPLIANCE & REVIEW:

Oversee a rigorous performance review framework for all coaches, ensuring detailed record-keeping and alignment with College standards and required certifications (WWCC, First Aid, etc.).

ABOUT YOU:

As a highly experienced coach or high-performance manager with a passion for mentorship and technical growth, you possess a proven track record of coaching at an elite level and the ability to lead a 1st XI to success. You bring deep expertise in modern cricket technical frameworks, tactical trends, and athlete development pathways, alongside the unique ability to lead and inspire a diverse cohort of coaches to deliver a unified coaching vision. Your strong organisational skills allow you to effectively manage professional development budgets and performance review processes, while your excellent communication skills ensure meaningful engagement with a motivated student body and parent community.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

The nature of this position requires the appointee to be available outside of normal school hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, to lead training sessions and attend fixtures throughout the cricket season. The appointee is expected to participate fully in the life of the College.
