Netball NSW is a not-for-profit organisation governed by a Board of Directors and managed by professional staff. As the peak state sporting body for netball in New South Wales, it is responsible for the governance, development, promotion and administration of the sport, and is affiliated with Netball Australia.
Netball NSW provides a comprehensive framework supporting approximately 119,000 registered members and more than 150,000 participants across all levels of the game. The sport’s continued growth is driven by the wide range of programs, facilities and services offered, from grassroots participation to professional pathways.
Netball NSW has a strong history of elite performance, with over 300 athletes representing the state since 1997, including through the Suncorp Super Netball competition featuring the NSW Swifts and GIANTS Netball.

ABOUT THIS ROLE
Are you passionate about storytelling, sport and creating content that inspires people to get involved?
Netball NSW is looking for a Communications & Content Coordinator to help tell the stories that connect our community, celebrate our people and grow the game across New South Wales.
Reporting to the GM Audience & Growth, this role plays an important part in bringing the Netball NSW, NSW Swifts and GIANTS Netball brands to life through engaging content, media relations and audience-focused communications.
From grassroots volunteers and community competitions to pathway athletes and elite netball stars, you'll help uncover and share the stories that showcase the impact, pride and passion that exists throughout our sport.
You'll work across multiple channels including website, email, media, social media and digital platforms, helping ensure our audiences feel connected, informed and inspired to play, watch and support netball.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creating compelling written content that celebrates the people, moments and impact of netball across NSW.
- Writing and publishing website articles, feature stories, media releases, newsletters and campaign content.
- Identifying and developing storytelling opportunities across community, pathway and talent netball programs.
- Supporting media relations activities, including media releases, interview coordination, pitching stories to local media and media monitoring.
- Managing and maintaining content across Netball NSW digital platforms, ensuring information is current, relevant and audience-focused.
- Managing Netball NSW email database and email campaign execution.
- Collaborating with the Marketing, Community, Competition, Pathways and Commercial teams to bring campaigns and initiatives to life.
- Supporting communication plans that drive participation, fan engagement and audience growth
- Assisting with content planning and editorial calendars across owned channels.
- Tracking and reporting on content and communication performance, providing insights and recommendations.
- Supporting event communications and content capture opportunities across the year.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or a related discipline.
- 2+ years experience in communications, content, public relations or digital media.
- Demonstrated experience writing content across multiple channels including websites, EDMs, media releases and social media.
- Experience working within sport, community, membership or not-for-profit organisations is highly regarded.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Current driver's licence.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK (WWCC)
