The Data Analyst will contribute to the Cricket Department to enable best practice cricket analytics and intelligence support to the domestic teams in conjunction with coaching and performance support staff.
Your Contributions
- Deliver performance analytics and cricket intelligence to support the South Australian Women’s State Program, Adelaide Strikers WBBL team and SACA Pathway Programs.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, data pipelines and machine learning models to support data-driven decision making.
- Provide match-day, opposition, post-match and seasonal performance analysis to coaches, players and support staff.
- Translate complex data into actionable insights that inform strategy, player development and team performance.
- Educate and support coaches, staff and athletes in the effective use of data, technology and performance analysis tools.
- Contribute to a high-performance environment through collaboration with coaching and performance staff and undertake other duties as required.
About you
You are a curious and analytical thinker who is self-driven and passionate about the impact of data on performance. You enjoy translating complex data into meaningful insights that influence performance outcomes. You also have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science or a related discipline.
- Current and valid South Australian Working with Children Check.
- Minimum two years’ experience working in performance analysis, data science or a similar role within elite sport.
- Demonstrated experience using statistical analysis and visualisation tools such as Power BI, Python, R, SQL or equivalent.
- Strong data science and analytical capability.
- Experience working with and managing large datasets.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present insights to a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-performance sporting environment.

The SACA is one of the nation’s premier sporting bodies, with a vision for cricket to be Australia’s favorite sport – a sport for all Australian’s. Operating within the sports and entertainment industry, SACA offers an exciting and dynamic working environment, and is responsible for overseeing and developing cricket on a State level.
The SACA is responsible for coordinating international and domestic cricket matches, Premier cricket matches and community carnivals, coaching and development and pathway programs for girls and boys, coaching, umpiring, volunteer development and ground management. It also administers high performance cricket in South Australia, including the SA Men’s and Women’s Teams and Adelaide Strikers women’s and men’s teams.
