About Launceston City Football Club
Launceston City Football Club is one of Tasmania's most respected and established football clubs, with a proud history dating back to 1958. Competing in the National Premier Leagues (NPL) Tasmania, LCFC is committed to excellence in player development, football performance, community engagement and the creation of sustainable pathways from junior to senior football.
The Club is seeking an experienced, ambitious and values-driven football leader to lead our Senior Men's NPL program and contribute to the ongoing growth and success of football at Launceston City FC.
The Opportunity
The Senior Men's Head Coach will be responsible for leading and developing the Club's Senior Men's NPL program, fostering a high-performance environment and driving both individual and team success.
The successful candidate will play a key role in player development, squad management, football culture and pathway alignment, while upholding the values and standards of Launceston City FC.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Men's Head Coach will:
- Lead all aspects of the Senior Men's NPL program.
- Plan, deliver and evaluate training sessions and match-day performance.
- Develop and implement a clear football philosophy and playing model.
- Manage player recruitment, retention and squad development.
- Conduct player assessments and support individual player development.
- Establish and maintain a positive, accountable and high-performing team culture.
- Support the progression of talented youth players into senior football.
- Collaborate with coaches and football staff to strengthen alignment across the Club.
- Promote player wellbeing and welfare.
- Uphold all Club, Football Australia and Football Tasmania policies and procedures, including safeguarding and member protection requirements.
- Act as a positive ambassador for Launceston City Football Club within the football and broader community.
Essential Criteria
Applicants must possess:
- AFC/FA B Licence (minimum), or be actively progressing towards this qualification.
- Demonstrated coaching experience at NPL, senior state league or comparable level.
- Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
- A clearly defined football philosophy.
- Experience working effectively within a club football environment.
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (or ability to obtain).
- Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
Desirable Criteria
The following will be highly regarded:
- AFC/FA A Licence or current enrolment in the A Licence pathway.
- Experience developing and integrating youth players into senior football.
- Experience in player recruitment, retention and squad planning.
- Experience contributing to broader football development initiatives within a club environment.
