The Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA) is the collective and representative voice of past, present and future male and female professional domestic and international cricketers in Australia. We are seeking applications for a Referral Network Lead (Psychologist) to join our Player Development and Wellbeing team. In this member facing role, you will provide timely, clinically informed triage and referral support to ACA members seeking assistance with their Mental Health and Wellbeing, ensuring they receive the right care at the right time.

This position is offered as a part-time basis, 0.6FTE/3 days per week, with flexibility hours to be spread across the working week or align with school hours. While this role is primarily an on-site role in our Cremorne office, flexible arrangements including candidates located in other locations across Australia will be considered.

Working closely with the ACA Head of Mental Health and Wellbeing, the role will coordinate referrals, build strong relationships with external providers, and collate data and insights to strengthen the ACA’s understanding and advocacy of member’s mental health and wellbeing needs.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • In consultation with the ACA Head of Mental Health and Wellbeing, provide timely triage support to ACA members seeking support for their Mental Health & Wellbeing.
  • Respond to referral network enquiries and requests, conduct initial triage, identify and manage any risks, and connect members with appropriate external providers.
  • Assist in developing and strengthening the processes, guidelines and clinical principles that underpin the operation of the external referral network.
  • Support the management of the national network of psychologists, psychiatrists and other specialist providers, including maintaining and strengthening provider relationships.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records with ACA systems.
  • Prepare concise reporting and insights on referral network activity, service uptake, emerging trends and member needs.
  • Collaborate with relevant ACA staff and external providers to support coordinated, safe and professional care.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of education, resources and programs that strengthen mental health knowledge and capability across Australia Cricket.
  • Identify and escalate any relevant clinical, service or wellbeing concerns to the ACA Head of Mental Health and Wellbeing or GM, Player Development and Wellbeing.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Full AHPRA registration as a Psychologist. Psychologists undertaking a registrar program are encouraged to apply and can be supported to complete the program.
  • Demonstrated experience in evidence-based mental health assessment and intervention, including risk management.
  • Strong clinical judgement and the ability to respond appropriately to a range of mental health presentations and levels of complexity.
  • Experience developing or improving clinical guidelines, referral pathways, processes or service offerings.
  • Ability to prepare timely, clear and concise reports and communicate relevant insights to key stakeholders.
  • Contemporary knowledge of the mental health and wellbeing issues affecting current and former professional athletes would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced critical thinking, judgement and problem solving capability.
  • A high level of initiative, with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to establish rapport quickly with members, colleagues, and eternal providers.
