Description

Love live sport? Thrive behind the scenes? Want to help create unforgettable experiences for thousands of fans?

We're looking for an Events Coordinator to join the Melbourne Stars for the upcoming Big Bash season. This is a seasonal fixed-term opportunity, expected to commence in September 2026 and run through to February 2027.

Working as part of our Events team, you'll help deliver Melbourne Stars home matches, community initiatives and commercial events, supporting everything from fan experiences and partner activations to match-day operations. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same and every event contributes to an unforgettable experience for our members, fans and partners.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Events and Fan Engagement you'll:

  • Coordinate event logistics across Melbourne Stars match days and club events.
  • Support fan engagement initiatives, community programs and commercial activations.
  • Prepare event documentation including run sheets, briefings and operational plans.
  • Liaise with venues, suppliers, volunteers, Cricket Australia and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with match-day presentation and operational delivery.
  • Help ensure events are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Provide administrative support across event planning and delivery.

About you

You'll be organised, proactive and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You're comfortable managing multiple priorities, building strong relationships and rolling up your sleeves to help wherever needed.

You'll also bring:

  • Experience coordinating events, activations or sporting events.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A collaborative, team-first approach.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays throughout the Big Bash season.
  • A Victorian Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one) and a current driver's licence.

Experience working within sport or supporting commercial partners will be highly regarded but is not essential.

Why Cricket Victoria?

This is an opportunity to spend your summer working in elite sport and helping deliver one of Australia's premier sporting competitions.

You'll join a passionate and supportive team, gain valuable experience across major event delivery, and play an important role in creating memorable experiences for Melbourne Stars members, fans and partners.

If you're looking for a fast-paced seasonal role where every day is different, we'd love to hear from you.
