Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the General Manager High Performance is accountable for the strategic direction, leadership and delivery of the Bowls Australia national high performance program.

About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the General Manager High Performance will be responsible for the strategic direction, leadership and delivery of Bowls Australia’s national High-Performance Program.

Working closely with the Australian Institute of Sport, Commonwealth Games Australia, National Institute Network partners, World Bowls, State and Territory Associations and funding partners, you will strengthen alignment across the national system and ensure excellence, wellbeing and integrity remain at the heart of the program through Winning Well.

We are looking for a dynamic leader to:

• Lead the development, delivery and ongoing evolution of Bowls Australia’s High Performance Strategy.
• Translate strategic priorities into clear plans, performance targets and measurable outcomes.
• Lead and develop the High Performance team across coaching, program management and performance support.
• Oversee campaign planning and preparation for benchmark and pinnacle events.
• Manage the HP budget and effectively align investment, people and resources with performance priorities.
• Build strong relationships and alignment across athletes, staff, State and Territory Associations, system partners and international stakeholders.
• Create a high-performance environment grounded in accountability, learning, wellbeing and the principles of Winning Well.

About You:

You will be a contemporary and influential leader with:

• Demonstrated leadership experience within high performance sport or another complex performance environment.
• The ability to translate strategy into measurable and sustainable performance outcomes.
• Experience leading, developing and aligning coaches, staff or multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong track record of building trusted relationships and influencing across diverse stakeholders.
• Sound financial and operational capability, including responsibility for significant budgets and resources.
• An understanding of the Australian high-performance sport system.
