Sunnybank Rugby Union Club is a proud, Premier Grade club based in Brisbane, Queensland, with a rich tradition of developing elite talent and competing at the highest levels of Queensland Rugby.
As we enter an exciting new chapter focused on growth, performance and sustainability, we are seeking a Digital Content Manager to maintain and grow our digital footprint across the rugby landscape, while servicing our commercial and operational communication needs.
The Opportunity
The Digital Content Manager will provide leading digital outputs across the entire club. This critical role provides positive brand profile, rugby focussed outputs which engage and convert potential into actual members - aiding our recruitment and retention strategy.
Reporting to the Marketing Manager and working closely with the General Manager, this role is strategically important to our member communications, and presence in the wider rugby community.
The Digital Content Manager will have an eye for detail and be creative and innovative to compete with digital sporting trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, profile and commercial credibility for the Rugby club.
- Create rugby specific content, which engages members and wider target audiences to drive engagement across all rugby programmes and registration growth.
- Create and execute season campaigns across Juniors, Seniors and 7s, including tours, representative pathways and events.
- Share time sensitive reactions in a professional way, ensuring attention to detail, brand profile and member engagement.
- Work closely with sponsors to activate partnerships, leveraging the power of Sunnybank Rugby to demonstrate Return on Investment, credibility and values driven partnerships.
- Manage social media accounts, website and members communications in conjunction with the wider shared services team, driven by data informed decisions and knowledge of club operations and membership.
- Utilise videography, game footage and analysis tools to create match highlight reels throughout the season, for juniors and seniors.
- Collaborate with teams, athletes, and sponsors to create and distribute multimedia content such as videos, photos, and press releases to state, nation and global rugby outlets.
- Analyse metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and adjust tactics accordingly, to achieve strategic outcomes for the club.
- Work Collaboratively with all colleagues across Sunnybank Rugby, and the wider group to leverage best practice, wider reach and efficiencies.
- Stay current with sport media trends to deliver the best digital content across QPR and BJRU.
Key Selection Criteria
We are seeking a Digital Content Manager with significant experience and passion for rugby and or field team sports, who can deliver impactful digital presence for the Club, positioning Sunnybank as the Premier Rugby Club with highest engagement across QPR.
Essential:
- Proven experience in large community sports clubs / professional sports clubs.
- Experience of managing digital content year-round, across multiple platforms.
- Able to attend training and matches (evenings and weekends, year-round)
- High standards of personal accountability and time management, able to prioritise workload dependent on the time of season, and operational needs of the club.
- Knowledge of digital platforms, and a willingness to learn systems currently in-house.
- High level of understanding HUDL / Sports Frame to utilise game footage for the purposes of content creation.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Blue Card (Working with Children Check); Police Check; Rugby Australia - Staff Integrity Level 1
Desirable:
- Experience in videography, content capture and editing.
