About the role

The Assistant Coach, Mogul Skiing plays a key role in delivering a world-class high-performance program for NSWIS scholarship athletes. Reporting to the Head Coach, Mogul Skiing, the Assistant Coach contributes to the planning, coordination and delivery of all aspects of the NSWIS Mogul Skiing Program. This includes supporting daily training environments, competition campaigns and athlete development initiatives that drive sustained high performance.

As an ambassador for NSWIS values and behaviours, the Assistant Coach builds strong relationships, proactively solves problems and delivers high-quality outcomes that support athlete success.

This is a full time position, attracting an annual salary of $88,610 plus superannuation.  The contract period for this role is up to 30 June 2027 in line with the Winter Olympic and Paralympic cycle. 

This position requires a valid Working with Children Check.

About you

You will bring to our team:

  • Experience with devising and executing a long-term periodised plan to guide the development of talent / emerging international athletes
  • Experience working in an international / domestic high performance sport environment, developing talented performers into potential podium / podium performers
  • Demonstrated knowledge of international high performance best practice, including awareness of developing trends in coaching technique, skill development, program growth and long-term holistic development
  • Experience in building and driving partnerships to better achieve shared high performance development outcomes
  • Understanding the key levers for high performance delivery to achieve national/international success

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Coaching, Sport Science, or similar)
  • Awareness of contemporary issues relating to athletes in high performance sport (mental health, wellbeing, social issues)
  • Working with Children Check or be willing to obtain this prior to working with us.
