Established in 1981, School Sport Australia works with its State and Territory member bodies to develop and promote school sport. Our national championships bring together representative primary and secondary school teams, combining sporting competition with educational, cultural and social experiences.
Student learning, wellbeing and development are central to our events.
About the role
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will coordinate the operational details that support safe, inclusive and well-organised events. You will work closely with School Sport Units, national sport advisors, venues, service providers, officials, volunteers and local communities.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Coordinating equipment, accreditation, signage, ceremonies, transport arrangements and on-site logistics.
- Preparing budget information, obtaining quotes, tracking costs and coordinating supplier deliverables.
- Preparing workforce plans, rosters and briefings, and coordinating onboarding and child safety clearance records.
- Supporting event bulletins, stakeholder updates, sponsor recognition, photography and livestream arrangements.
- Maintaining risk and incident records and supporting event evaluation and reporting.
About you
You will bring relevant tertiary qualifications in event management, sports administration or management, business or project coordination, or equivalent practical experience.
You will also have:
- At least two to three years’ experience coordinating events involving multiple stakeholders, including live event operations.
- Experience coordinating officials, volunteers, venues and ceremonies, with an understanding of accessibility and disability inclusion.
- Strong organisational, communication and digital administration skills, including scheduling, supplier coordination and budget tracking.
- Sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to respond effectively when priorities change.
- A current driver licence, Australian work rights and the ability to obtain relevant Working with Children clearances.
Experience with sporting championships, multi-sport events, grant or sponsor reporting and livestream logistics will be highly regarded. A current first aid qualification is desirable.
