Description

Working within the Tennis Lab you will utilise a wide range of technologies as they relate to on court and racquet performance. This will include assisting in the data collection and analysis of Tennis Lab projects. This internship will predominately focus on working during the AO-series and Australian Open events on related data collection and analysis projects.

Key Responsibilities 

Racquet recommender data collection:

  • Assist in set up of the HawkEye system and performance of research and applied performance analysis in elite training settings. 
  • Analyse HawkEye data to obtain informative outcomes for researchers, coaches and/or athletes
  • Report, present, and/or communicate findings with necessary persons (i.e coaches, athletes, high performance staff).
  • Assist in pre AO-series and Autralian Open data collection and anlysis.

Australian Open 

  • Daily AO data collection and analysis of ball and court peformance.
  • Racquet testing with athletes in the lead up and post event.
  • Assissting in data analysis.

Tennis Lab daily activities

  • Recording and reporting player racquet and string specifications.
  • Assistting racquet customisation and equipment modification.
  • Assisting stringing racquets for play testing.

Environmental, Health and Safety Responsibilities:

  • Complies with Tennis Australia’s OH&S policies and procedures.
  • Takes reasonable care for the safety of his/her own health and safety and that of other people who may be affected by their conduct in the workplace.
  • Seeks guidance for all new or modified work procedures to ensure that any hazardous conditions, near misses and injures are reported immediately to the Manager.
  • Participates in meetings, training and other environment, health and safety activities.
  • Does not wilfully place at risk the health or safety of any person in the work place.
  • Does not wilfully or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interest of environment health and safety or welfare.
  • Cooperates with Tennis Australia in relation to activities taken by TA to comply with OH&S and environmental legislation.
  • Participate in Return to Work Programs, as required to, across the organisation.
